We have a new champion! Holder of the “Worst Subtitles” belt is now this 1993 film, starring Khan and Lee: illiterate when they aren’t completely illegible. That’s a shame, as it’s a rollocking, flying swordplay flick, which has Lee playing one of the titular fighters, who grows to suspect their struggle against evil might not be as virtuous as it seems. What starts off looking cheesy gets steadily better, with some great locations and fine fights, although they overdo the under-cranked film a tad. Khan smoulders intensely as the daughter of the Eagles’ nemesis, who teams up with Lee when he discovers the truth, and finds his former colleagues are now out to kill him. And then there’s the kung-fu kids: ‘Cold Blooded Eagles: The Next Generation’? Full of imagination, to be sure.
